Working With Less Active Members

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for your emails! It is always nice to hear that things are going well back at home! I can't believe that Dani is almost a Master of Business Administration... I am still not convinced, that is super convenient that she started school right after I left, and finishes just before I get home! I have to see it on paper! Haha just kidding, that is exciting though, and I bet she is going to be the most excited!

As for us here, things have been going... well I guess! Like I said we are working with the Less-Active members of the ward a lot, and we are trying to get them coming back. We weren't able to meet with the one family that I was telling you about, we just talked with them on the phone a few times, and they are in a tight spot right now, and want to get things at least somewhat figured out before they have us over again.

And then we were able to help one of our investigators move out of his appartment, and I had mentioned that I could do a backflip in a previous lesson with him, and he didn't believe me, he said "No way a guy as tall as you can do that!" haha so he was pretty surprised when I actually could do it! haha

Other than that, things are going pretty well. Elder Lott and I are still having a lot of fun! And we are doing our best, so hopefully we will be able find some more people this week!

That's about all I have for you this week, Love you guys and can't wait to hear from you next week!

Teaching and the National Zoo

Hey guys! Good to hear from you all!

Things are going pretty good for us here, we still have had a little bit of a tough time finding people that are interested in the gospel, but there is one family that we met the other day that was a referral from the Festival of Lights at the temple, and they were very nice and interested in meeting with us more, we didn't get to do much teaching while we were there, but hopefully they will all be coming to church this Sunday!

We are still working with our other two investigators, but it has been a while since we have been able to meet with them, they really only have one day of the week available, and the past few weeks that day has been busy as well, but we are helping them move tomorrow, so that should be good!

There are a lot of reactivation efforts in this ward, and the leaders of the ward are trying to get us more involved with that, so far we have been able to help teach a few people, and it has gone really well, but there is a lot more to do!

Anyways that is about all I have for you this week! Sorry for being so short, but thanks for your emails, and I hope that you all have a great week!

College Park East - Doing Fine!

Rob wrote us a cute email today that he said was just for the family this week. He didn't want me to post it to the blog. All is well, and things are moving along just fine in College Park East. He just had a few things to say that were just for his family. Watch for his email next week!

Church and Basketball

Hello Fam!

Sorry for being so late today! Things here in the new area are going great though! Sometimes it is scary how much mine and Elder Lott's senses of humor are alike... hahaha it has been really fun, and we have been working hard!

I figured out this week that there wasn't as much stuff going on in our area as I thought there was, but we are doing all we can to change that! We met with two young men on Thursday last week, which went really well, we taught them about the Sabbath Day and church and all that good stuff, but unfortunately they still didn't make it out to church on Sunday. It is interesting, the ward has a basketball team, and apparently it is really popular, so much that they have an A and a B team just for our ward. Apparently a lot of non-members have played in the past, but this year our bishop said that you can only play if you come to church, and one of these investigators really likes basketball, so he figured he would come to church, and eventually started liking it, and wanted to meet with the missionaries! And since then, we have started to teach his friend as well!

Other than that though, we don't have a whole lot of people that we are working with, so we are trying to get the ward more involved, as well as find people ourselves! We are still in the process of trying to get things organized though, as well as clean up. Hopefully we can get through all of that soon though, and start finding lots of people that are ready to hear the gospel!

Anyways, thanks for all your emails this week. You guys are too funny about the whole Juanito Bandito thing... you will have to show me! Love you guys! Have a good week!

Transferred to College Park East!

Man... these transfers keep going faster and faster. Well, I am officially in a new area, College Park East, so we border my old area in D.C. 3rd, and my new companion is Elder Lott. He is from Ogden, and this is only his second transfer. I am now roommates with my old MTC companion, Elder Fowles, so that will be fun! It was tough to leave Mo-Ville, but I am excited to be here now, I have heard nothing but good things about this place.

As for things in Mo-Ville last week, we were able to meet with the young lady we were teaching again, and she came to church, so hopefully things will continue to go well with her. We haven't met with the young man we were teaching since last time I wrote, and he didn't make it to church either... I didn't really get to say goodbye to him, but Elder Salanoa will take care of everything, so I am not worried.

We were able to meet with another investigator, which was great! It had been like 3 weeks I think, so it was good to be able to talk with him. And then the new mom that moved into the ward, we had a few brief visits with her, and they went well, but she still didn't end up making it to church! So that was a little frustrating, the ward really wants to help her, but she just doesn't come to church, so it is hard for them to do much.

I was able to say goodbye to our cute new little convert and her mom though, that was really good, I will miss them a lot, but we will stay in touch.

Well, it was good to hear from you all! I look forward to it every week! Give Uncle Rick and Grandma my best, I will be praying for them! Love you guys! Have an amazing week!
